Basic UAS Class

Description: Students will be presented with 40 hours of instruction and flight training covering various aspects of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) utilization for Public Safety.

Topics: Introduction to UAS in Public Safety; UAS Equipment and Technology for Public Safety; UAS Flight Planning for Public Safety; Remote Sensing and Data Analysis in Public Safety; Legal and Ethical Considerations in Public Safety UAS Operations; Thermal Class and Flight Planning; Data Analysis and Reporting for Public Safety; Public Safety UAS Best Practices and Future Trends and Practical Flight Exams.

Requirements: Students must bring their own UAS. Two (2) years of law enforcement experience and FAA Part 107 certification is highly encouraged.
