Basic Ballistic Shield

Minimum students for class to make is 10

This is a 4 hour course, classroom and range. This class is designed to basically train officers in the use of the patrol ballistic shield. Students will be given hands on instruction on the use of the ballistic shield. Students will be shown how to hold the shield, move with weapons and the shield, conduct reloads and clear malfunctions. Students will also be introduced to information on the different ways to conduct searches and personnel  rescues with the ballistic shield. Students will perform live fire with the shied. Non ECSO students can bring their issued shield, if none issued may use ours. Non ECSO students WILL need to bring at least 50 rifle rounds and 50 pistol rounds of their own ammunition!!!!
